What is German Silver?
German silver—despite the name—contains no actual silver. It’s a metal alloy made mainly of:
- Copper
- Nickel
- Zinc
This combination gives it a silvery-white appearance, which is why it’s called “silver,” even though it isn’t.
What is the Composition of German Silver?
The composition of German silver (nickel silver) typically consists of three main metals:
- Copper (Cu): about 50–60%
- Nickel (Ni): about 10–25%
- Zinc (Zn): about 20–30%
Example composition:
A common standard mixture is:
- 60% Copper
- 20% Nickel
- 20% Zinc
How to Clean German Silver?
Dip the German silver item in warm water. Using a clean, soft brush, apply a small amount of plain toothpaste such as regular Colgate only and gently rub the surface until the tarnish is removed. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, then wipe the item with a fresh, soft cloth. Allow it to dry for a few minutes until all moisture is gone, and finally store it in a polythene bag.

Do you have International Shipping?
We can help you with our regular courier partner after the order confirmation we will be sharing the courier partner contact details, you can coordinate with him about the shipping charges and negotiations.
Who will take the International Transit Damage Responsibility?
We will do a video call and show the condition of the products to the customer before we send it to the courier partner.Since it is an International shipment Crazy Silver Shine will not be having any control over the damages and we will not be responsible for the courier damages.You have to discuss with the courier partner about the packaging and check with them if you can Insure your parcel.
